Instructions
Cook macaroni in plenty of salted water until al dente.
Drain and set the macaroni aside.
Cut the sausage into pieces.
Melt butter in a saucepan.
Stir in flour into a smooth roux.
Gradually add milk while whisking, until the sauce is smooth.
Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes.
Season with ground nutmeg, salt and pepper.
Add sausage, macaroni and peas to an ovenproof dish.
Pour over the white sauce.
Top with grated cheese.
Bake at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes, until golden and bubbling.
