Norwegian Fish Balls in White Sauce

Instructions

Wash the potatoes well and boil until tender, 20 to 30 minutes.

Peel the carrots and cut them into slices.

Boil the carrots until tender, about 15 minutes.

Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat.

Stir in flour into an even mixture.

Gradually add stock from the fish ball can while stirring.

Add milk and bring to a boil while stirring.

Let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes.

Season with grated nutmeg, salt and pepper.

Add the fish balls to the sauce and warm them gently.

Fry bacon cubes crisp in a pan.

Serve fish balls in white sauce with potatoes, carrots, crisp bacon and finely chopped chives.
