Instructions

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

Stir in the flour until you have a smooth roux.

Gradually add the milk while stirring well, so the sauce becomes smooth.

Bring to a boil while stirring.

Let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes, until the flour taste is gone and the texture is rich.

Season with salt and pepper.
