Soy Marinated Tuna

Instructions

Stir together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, finely grated ginger and finely grated garlic into a marinade.

Cut the tuna into about 2 cm thick steaks if it is in one whole piece.

Place the tuna in the marinade.

Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Remove the tuna from the marinade and coat it in sesame seeds.

Heat sunflower oil in a frying pan over high heat.

Sear the tuna for 1 to 2 minutes on each side, so it gets a crust but stays raw in the center.

Let the tuna rest briefly before slicing.

Serve with rice, shrimp chips or a fresh salad.

Tips & tricks

Use very high heat and short cooking time. This gives the tuna a good surface without the center losing its raw texture.
