Instructions

Measure out rice and water.

Rinse the rice under cold running water until the water runs clear.

Add water and salt to a saucepan and bring to a boil.

Add the rice to the boiling water and stir quickly with a fork.

Lower the heat and cover with a lid.

Let the rice simmer covered for 15 to 20 minutes, or according to the package instructions.

Do not stir the rice while it cooks.

Turn off the heat when the rice is done.

Let the rice rest covered for 5 minutes.

Fluff the rice gently with a fork before serving.

Tips & tricks

Do not lift the lid too often while the rice cooks. The steam is an important part of the cooking, and too much heat loss can give uneven texture.
