Add brown sugar, honey, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce to a saucepan.
Add garlic powder, cayenne pepper, pepper, salt, cumin, oregano and finely chopped garlic.
Bring to a boil over medium heat while stirring.
Lower the heat and let the sauce simmer for 10 to 12 minutes, until it thickens slightly and the flavors come together.
Stir regularly so the sugar does not burn on the bottom.
Season with more salt, vinegar or hot sauce if you want a clearer balance.
Cool the sauce completely and pour it into a clean jar or airtight container.
Store the sauce chilled until ready to use.
